The Immaculate Conception

Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a holy day of obligation for all Catholics, officially declared a dogma on December 8, 1854 by Pope Pius IX.

The doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of Mary teaches that she was preserved from original sin from the first moment of her conception in the womb of St. Ann.
Today, our parish had a beautiful liturgy in honor of this feast which is so fittingly celebrated during Advent.
"O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee"
